Machine Passport

PT-104

Line 03 / Pump skid
PLC, HMI, variable-frequency drive

An example of how a proposed Machine Passport organizes one machine’s records. These filenames, dates, and evidence states are fictional. No machine or live AI is connected.

The evidence, with its limits.

A state describes the evidence available for that item. It does not certify recovery of the whole machine. The example names records; it does not provide the underlying files.

RecordState / example dateWhat the state means
PLC program filePT104_baseline.L5X, v4LocatedA file is identified. Its match to the current controller and its usability still require confirmation.
Electrical drawingE-104, revision CReviewedThe record has been reviewed in this example. Review does not by itself establish current machine accuracy.
Drive parameter recordPT-104 VFD, isolated testRestore-testedA test is recorded for an isolated setup. Its environment, outcome, and reviewer would belong in the actual record.
HMI restore evidenceOperator panel, test recordMissingNot recordedNo restore-test evidence is supplied for the HMI. Its recovery path remains unconfirmed.

Still to establish.

Questions for qualified review.

  • Confirm the equipment identities and required software.
  • Confirm record ownership, access, revisions, and current relevance.
  • Locate HMI evidence, manuals, and maintenance history.
  • Review the recorded drive test’s scope and limitations.
  • Agree any further assessment or approved nonproduction test separately.

A filename is not proof of a usable backup. A file, paper printout, or tag read does not by itself prove a current recovery path. An individual drive test does not prove the PLC, HMI, or whole machine can be restored. Qualified people retain decisions under the site’s approved procedures.
